Encouraging early literacy starts young, much earlier than a child’s first day of kindergarten. While it’s wonderful to ensure homes have books in them, Stephanie discusses the importance of educating parents so that they know how to support their child’s literacy development before they enter school. She provides strategies beyond handing out books that schools and parents can use to increase the language and literacy development of current and future students.
