Today was our last day working at Korle Bu Hospital. We had the opportunity to visit the audiology department and observe newborn hearing screenings.

A group of us led a language stimulation workshop with children ages 2-4 and their caregivers. We modeled and practiced hand over hand techniques to teach gestures corresponding to songs, such as itsy bitsy spider, and read books. The rest of the group continued to see patients for various speech and language disorders and provided appropriate recommendations. After lunch at the dean’s guesthouse, we visited the Artists Alliance Gallery, which had a variety of artwork such as paintings, statues, and jewelry. The gallery was located by the beach, so we sat by a pool overlooking the beach and bonded over good conversation.
