Our Final Day
After an early morning bus ride back from Kumasi to Accra full of Anasi stories and songs, we arrived at Korle Bu Hospital to witness a surgery and to participate in the cleft palate clinic.

This morning we headed back to the Effiduase school to work with the students on making sequencing cards and supporting literacy.
Today was the first day of the Advanced Cleft Palate, Speech, & Feeding Institute at Komfo Anokye Hospital.
Today was the last day with our colleagues at the professional development retreat.
Our second day of PD was a co-op of students, teachers, and directors creating academically integrative approaches. And a dance finale.
Today, we left Accra and began our journey to Kumasi.
Today was an exciting day filled with fabric and bead buying galore!
Today was our last day working at Korle Bu Hospital. We had the opportunity to visit the audiology department and observe newborn hearing screenings.
Again, we separated into groups of 4-5 students to assess, evaluate, and provide speech and language therapy to clients with a variety of disorders, including cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, aphasia, language delay, and more. We focused on parent-child interaction and creating home programs with strategies for the parents to work with their children. We then had lunch at the Dean’s Guest House, where a tradition Ghanaian dish (Ground Nut Soup with Fufu) was prepared for us. Afterwards, we went to the Accra market place to explore and buy souvenirs.
Goodbye for now!
Best,
Hind
