This module discusses the necessary data and information that must be in every evaluation so that the administrator can feel comfortable giving the child an IEP or not. One way to do this is by including a hologram. A hologram should allow whoever reads the evaluation to close their eyes and “see” the child. The hologram should include specific and concrete examples of the child’s highest level of functioning, gained during the evaluation itself as well as through the parent interview. In addition, every evaluation must include a quantification of the severity (mild, mild-moderate, moderate, moderate-severe, severe) of the disability, if one has been determined to exist.
